Microsoft upgrades mapping service to 3-D

Internet is a great place to search for information, good deals and much more but it has also become the battle ground for the big players like Microsoft, Google, Yahoo, AOL and some other not so big. If you read the book The Marketing Warfare, you will be able to apply the four strategies in the Internet. If you did not read the book, this will be a good time to do so, if you care about marketing of course!

Microsoft, in another punch directly to Google even if they do not say that, has upgraded its online mapping service to include 3-D tours for some of the most popular U.S. cities. Microsoft is hoping to upstage Google’s popular Earth software.

Earth software enables people around the world to obtain an aerial view of their homes and neighborhoods right from their computers. Earth software comes in different versions, the bottom line flavor the freebie and the top of the line with a costly annual fee for the professionals that need to read the car?s license plate in their search.

Now, regardless of Microsoft or Google mapping service, the pictures that you can see are not real-time. Most of the pictures are six to twelve months old, only cosmopolitan cities? pictures are updated more frequently.
