In the race of voice over IP service

Regardless of the vertical market a business used to belong to, no one wants to miss the Internet gold rush. Best Buy, America’s larger electronics retailer, is getting into the Internet phone business.

Best Buy is buying Seattle-based company called Speakeasy, which provides Internet and Internet-based phone service to small businesses nationwide. Phone calls that move over the Internet, AKA VoIP for Voice Over IP (Internet Protocol), instead of traditional phone lines (land lines) have been increasingly popular with businesses lately.

With the purchase of Speakeasy, Best Buy keep in the path of adding services to its retail offerings.
